# Behavior

> Analyze visitor behavior on your website — page performance, landing pages, exit pages, and custom event tracking.

Source: https://docs.graph8.com/analytics/behavior/

The Behavior dashboard shows what visitors do on your website — which pages they view, how long they stay, and what events they trigger. Use this to identify your best-performing content and spot pages that need improvement.

## Behavior Overview

The overview shows your top pages and top events side by side.

### Top Pages

A table of your most-viewed pages:

| Column | What It Shows |
|--------|--------------|
| **Page Title** | The page's HTML title |
| **Page Path** | The URL path |
| **Views** | Total page views |
| **Unique Visitors** | Distinct visitors who viewed this page |
| **Avg Time on Page** | Average time spent on the page |
| **Bounce Rate** | Percentage of visitors who left after viewing only this page |

### Top Events

A table of your most-fired custom events:

| Column | What It Shows |
|--------|--------------|
| **Event Category** | Category grouping for the event |
| **Event Action** | Specific action that was tracked |
| **Event Label** | Additional context or label |
| **Total Events** | Total times this event fired |
| **Unique Events** | Distinct users who triggered this event |

## Pages Report

The full Pages report expands the top pages table with complete data for all tracked pages.

| Column | What It Shows |
|--------|--------------|
| **Page Title** | Page's HTML title |
| **Page Path** | URL path |
| **Views** | Total page views |
| **Unique Visitors** | Distinct visitors |
| **Avg Time on Page** | Average time spent (formatted as minutes and seconds) |
| **Bounce Rate** | Single-page session rate |

### What to Look For

- **High views, high bounce rate** — the page attracts traffic but doesn't engage. Review the content or calls to action.
- **High time on page** — visitors are reading deeply. This content resonates.
- **Low unique visitors, high views** — a small audience is revisiting this page frequently. Could indicate a reference page or FAQ.

## Events Report

The full Events report shows all custom events tracked on your website.

| Column | What It Shows |
|--------|--------------|
| **Event Category** | Category grouping |
| **Event Action** | The specific action tracked |
| **Event Label** | Additional label or context |
| **Total Events** | Total event occurrences |
| **Unique Events** | Distinct users who triggered the event |

Custom events are tracked using the graph8 tracking script. Common examples:

- Button clicks (CTA clicks, navigation)
- Video plays
- Scroll depth milestones
- Feature usage in web applications
- Download actions

> **Tip:**
> Combine the Pages and Events reports to understand your conversion paths. If your pricing page has high views but low form submissions, check if visitors are engaging with CTAs (via events) or bouncing before they reach the form.
