# Mission 4: Close Deals Faster

> Track deal velocity, keep your pipeline current, and export deal summaries for stakeholders

Source: https://docs.graph8.com/training/ae/closing/

## What you'll learn

- How to track deal velocity and spot stalled deals
- How to keep deals updated efficiently with Copilot
- How to export deal summaries for internal reviews

---

## Step 1: Track Deal Velocity

Deal velocity tells you how long each opportunity spends in each pipeline stage. Use it to catch deals before they go cold.

1. Navigate to **Companies** and click the **Deals** subtab to view your full pipeline.

2. Use the **My Deals** toggle to filter to your deals only.

3. Review the key velocity metrics for each deal:
   - **Days in Stage** -- how long the deal has been in its current stage
   - **Stage Entry Date** -- when the deal entered the current stage
   - **Total Deal Value** -- sum of all deals on the account

4. Sort by **Days in Stage** (descending) to surface your most stalled deals first.

> **Tip:**
> Set a personal rule: any deal in the same stage for more than 14 days without activity needs immediate attention. Either advance it, update the stage, or mark it at risk.

---

## Step 2: Update Deals with Copilot

Use natural language to keep your pipeline current without navigating through forms.

1. Open **Copilot** from the bottom-right corner of Studio.

2. Use these commands to update deals in real time:

   | Action | Copilot Command |
   |--------|-----------------|
   | Move a deal | "Move the Acme deal to Negotiation stage" |
   | Update value | "Set Acme deal value to $85,000" |
   | Add a note | "Add note to Acme deal: Legal review in progress, expect redlines by Friday" |
   | Add a contact | "Add Maria Lopez as an influencer at Acme Corp" |
   | Update close date | "Set Acme expected close date to March 30" |

3. Confirm each update -- Copilot will show you the change before applying it.

> **Tip:**
> Build a habit of updating deals via Copilot immediately after each call. It takes 30 seconds and keeps your pipeline accurate for forecasting.

---

## Step 3: Export Deal Summaries

Pull together everything you know about a deal for internal reviews, QBRs, or manager check-ins.

1. From the account detail page, open **Copilot**.

2. Ask: **"Give me a full summary of the Acme Corp deal"** to get a consolidated view that includes:
   - Current deal stage and value
   - Key stakeholders and their roles
   - Recent meeting notes and action items
   - Company intelligence highlights

3. Copy the summary for use in pipeline reviews, forecast calls, or manager updates.

4. For a quick pipeline overview, ask: **"Show me all my deals in Proposal stage"** to review deals by stage.

> **Tip:**
> Run a deal summary before every pipeline review meeting. Walking in with a crisp account narrative -- instead of scrambling through notes -- sets you apart.
