Mission 2: Get Your Data In

Before you can do anything in graph8, you need data. This mission walks you through importing contacts and organizing them into a list.

Step 1: Import contacts

  1. Navigate to Data → Contacts
  2. Click the Import button in the top right
  3. Select a CSV file from your computer
    • The file should have columns like email, first_name, last_name, company
    • graph8 will auto-map common column names
  4. Review the column mapping and click Import
  5. Wait for the import to complete — you’ll see a success message with the count

Step 2: Create a list

Lists let you group contacts for targeted outreach.

  1. Navigate to Data → Lists
  2. Click Create List
  3. Give it a name (e.g., “First Outreach List”)
  4. Add contacts:
    • Use filters to find specific contacts
    • Or select contacts manually from the grid
  5. Save the list

Step 3: View a company profile

graph8 automatically groups contacts by company.

  1. Navigate to Data → Companies
  2. Click on any company name to see its profile
  3. Review the company details:
    • Basic info (industry, size, location)
    • Associated contacts
    • Activity history

Once you’ve imported contacts, created a list, and viewed a company profile, this mission is complete!
